As follow up to the June 2023 Knowledge Sharing & Learning Tour in Trail, the KS&L Trail Group was formed with follow up meetings online in September 2023 and January, June and November 2024.
September 15, 2023
Meeting purpose: To develop a common understanding of the portfolio of work taking place in Trail to support human health and well-being in a community influenced by smelter air emissions. Specifically, the Human Health Risk Assessment for Lead, the Wide Area Remediation Plan, and the Trail Area Health & Environment Program.

January 17, 2024
Meeting purpose:
- To share the findings of Interior Health’s Blood Lead Analysis and how this relates to the Human Health Risk Assessment for Pb.
- To consider how the information shared may influence each of our areas of work (Air, Health, Built Environments, Soil, WARP, or other).
June 11, 2024
Meeting purpose: To share and discuss the status and plans for consultation on the Wide Area Remediation Plan & Medical Health Officer (MHO) recommendation for Trail and surrounding area.

November 7, 2024
Meeting purpose: To share and discuss the confirmed plan (including materials, timing, and content) for consultation on the Wide Area Remediation Plan & MHO recommendation for Trail and surrounding area.
June 25, 2025
Meeting purpose:
- To provide an update and answer questions related to the consultation on the Wide Area Remediation Plan & MHO recommendation for Trail and surrounding area.
- To share the purpose and initial work of the Blood Lead Level Reduction Working Group.
- To propose topics for a fall meeting
