This study was requested to update the 1994 review of the rates of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) in Trail, following publication of a medical survey in Northport, Washington in 2012. This review found that the rates of hospitalization, physician visits and medication prescriptions related to IBD were higher in Trail residents from 2007-2011 than in Nelson, Williams Lake, Interior Health and BC as a whole. The BC CDC offered to repeat the analysis in several years’ time.
