This analysis of data from 2003-2015 was completed by the BCCDC. This study looked at two forms of IBD, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and found rates of Crohn’s disease were higher in Trail from 2010-2015, compared with Interior Health (IH) as a whole. Rates of ulcerative colitis were the same for Trail and IH.

This report shares the 2019 Children’s Blood Lead Clinic results as well as comparing results to previous years. Participation is voluntary and targeted Areas 2 & 3. The blood lead level geomean for Areas 2/3 was 2.6 µg/dL which is considered similar to 2018 results.

The results from the 2019 children’s blood lead testing clinic show that the average blood lead level for children aged six to 36 months in Trail and Rivervale is 2.6 micrograms per decilitre.
