THEP supports community health and wellbeing in an area influenced by smelter air emissions for over 125 years. This report shares the 2021 Children’s Blood Lead Clinic results and compares results to previous years. Participation is voluntary and includes Areas 1, 2 & 3. Participation was impacted by Covid cases and viral colds during clinic dates. The blood lead level geomean for Areas 2/3 was 2.5 µg/dL and 2.0 µg/dL for Area 1.
This report recaps the first three phases of this work, which were conducted in the laboratory, and presents the results of the final soil amendment trials, which were conducted in the field. This report shares the 2020 Children’s Blood Lead Clinic results as well as comparing results to previous years. Participation is voluntary and targeted Area 1, 2 & 3. The blood lead level geomean for Areas 2/3 was 2.3 µg/dL and 2.0 µg/dL for Area 1. Mean blood lead levels are decreasing over time.

This is a report to the THEC on Teck Trail Operations' 2019 fugitive dust reduction program. It includes a description of fugitive dust and why reduction is important, provides details around current initiatives such as wind fencing, onsite wheel washing, and real-time road dust monitoring. It provides ambient air monitoring results and project next steps.
This analysis of data from 2003-2015 was completed by the BCCDC. This study looked at two forms of IBD, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and found rates of Crohn’s disease were higher in Trail from 2010-2015, compared with Interior Health (IH) as a whole. Rates of ulcerative colitis were the same for Trail and IH.
