Renovators and contractors can make use of information to identify lead risks prior to renovation projects. They can learn the importance of lead-safe work practices to protect workers, families, and household members.
The broader community can benefit from being able to identify and address lead in paint hazards in the built environment, which could reduce the potential for inappropriate handling or disposal of paint containing lead. Understanding lead in paint hazards will ensure the longevity of soil management program projects by preventing the recontamination of soil from lead in paint.
If seniors or others have additional questions about health impacts from exposure to lead in paint, THEP team members can email questions and contact information to EA@interiorhealth.ca. An Environmental Health Officer will respond within 1 week.
