MUST KNOW:
Properties are prioritized based on three factors: levels of metals in the soil, quality of the ground cover, and presence of children. The first step is to have the soil tested in your yard.
There is an online consent form. You can also contact the Community Program Office to get the link to the consent form.
Priority for soil management is given to homes with children under 12 years of age.
SHOULD KNOW:
If soil management is offered to property owners, they need to sign a consent form to proceed.
Planning takes place between the homeowner/resident and the Community Program representative.
COULD KNOW:
Depending on the property size, it takes about two weeks to complete on-site soil replacement work (and up to one year of planning and preparation).
There are no costs to the homeowner.
The homeowners are responsible for maintaining the property once the work is completed.
