The biggest change was ensuring physical distancing measures were in place. In-person home visits shifted to virtual visits. As well, the downtown Community Program Office was closed to the public. There were more phone and email conversations because face-to-face communication was less available. Program team meetings shifted to online formats. Overall, the Program continued to operate as the nature of the work was still possible in the pandemic environment.
On the positive, the website was undergoing updates and this was a great opportunity to set up program forms online. Many of THEP’s programs are now available for sign-up via the website, reducing the need for paperwork.
The lack of face-to-face engagement with families was the most difficult change for everyone.
